SOMARES Project — „Somatic Resonance: Embodied Intelligence and European Heritage"

24.06.2026

Yildiz Technical University (Turkey) is coordinating SOMARES, a Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action under preparation for the Artistic Intelligence call (HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-HERITAGE-01). The project develops and tests transferable arts-based methodologies for soft-skills development through embodied practice, listening, and participatory heritage learning. Partners sought. Submission: September 2026.

SOMARES is an interdisciplinary project that develops soft skills such as empathy, listening, and collaboration through embodied artistic practices, sound methods, and participatory heritage learning. Museums act as co-research spaces where community and intangible knowledge are activated and tested.

The project creates transferable Artistic Intelligence Modules (AIMs), combining these approaches into structured learning formats with evaluation methods, tested across multiple European sites and shared as an open toolkit. It also explores sound as a tool for structuring collective participation and decision-making.

Key innovations include the concept of embodied intelligence, the use of sound as a methodological driver, participatory museum research, and a robust mixed-methods evaluation framework. The consortium (currently Turkey, Spain, Poland) seeks additional partners, especially in evaluation, museums, arts, sound, and education.
